    Default 2017 Ford Edge Key

    Hello All

Local dealership has asked to have emergency key cut for proxy key. They said they have tried everyone but no one can cut it.

    Code is : 10725

When put into instacode only giving Ford USA. I cut this key on miracle A9 with Ford 10 cut option but key doesn’t work.

    Any ideas ?

    Thanks in advance 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

is it internal track or external track cut key ?

if original external track key then you can pick and decode the lock with hu101 tool if code isnt working

if the new internal track key then it cuts as HU198T , as its an internal track lock so key is cut differently , not all machines can cut these , ninja laser can cut these using the V jaw and 1.5mm cutter , to pick and decode this one you would need the ford 2017 lishi tool.

so in either lock version you can pick and decode the lock with the correct tool , but if the new internal cut key then you would need a machine that cuts these , unless they have another key you can trace from .

it wouldnt be the 1st time a key number has been wrong , but the correct lishi sorts it out

the fact that no one locally can cut it , suggests its probably the newer internal track key , as only a few machines cut these this is likley to be why no one can cut it in your area .

    Hi Rapid

    Thanks for reply.

Is picking technique same as HU100 for 2017 Lishi ?

Is this something you could cut ?

This is an ongoing thing with dealership. I can get codes and could be done by post if your interested?

the code given doesnt match the current series info in the machines and on instacode , instacode only covers 0020001 to 0032003 , so you would still need to pick and decode to get cuts .

i dont cut and post keys out , ive too much on already , though i do have the correct machine and jaw for these as do the keys when needed as common on 2017 fiesta , but no id not cut and post these , not until i retire and things quieten down.

you must have someone in NI with a proper machine capable of doing these , if not then it may be worth opening that cheque book again and buying one if no one else touching them

    Hi Rapid

I’ll check my machine see if it can do it with blade number you’ve supplied.

Cheque book is staying shut for now whilst these boys might be throwing some keys this way wouldn’t justify a new machine as yet. Problem with this is a lot of ones will do the keys for peanuts and just not bother cutting emergency key. It’s only because it’s a dealership they want it done 😬

Is this a difficult lock to pick ?

no harder to pick than the hu101 as basically same lock just different wafer format . but be aware the lishi picks can read out on these , ive done a few and some decode a dream and some read out , not found the reason yet .

also not hard to strip and read wafers on these .

i opened a new fiesta keys locked in over the weekend , didnt fight and took just over a minute to get in and retrieve the keys . very few locks are hard to pick if you put the bench time and research in , you will always come across a particular nasty differ or the odd lock issue , but on whole not many car locks fight back

if it took an hour id buy the lock off of them as would be the most secure ford lock in history and worth a fortune.

bench time and practice is all it takes

what machine are you cutting with?

if condor 5 minutes on custom key tool solves your problem

thats why i have a laptop and the software on hand in the van so i can bodge up a key cutting profile in 5 minutes and upload to the machine and cut the key

just need to have key dimensions and depth and space data

many a time the condor has let me down not having a profile (motorcycles & HU100 10 cut which i still use my own card )

    https://www.redt-miracle-key.com/download.html

do you have the codemaster software?

i believe you can make your own cards with that as well

    im seeing here page 94

machine can add cards on its screen and you dont even need a laptop......

    https://www.abkeys.com/uploads/files...ual_abkeys.pdf

so all you need is a pair of calipers and some cut keys and you can make yourself a card or the depth a space data for it

but that code is a hu101 code not a hu198t code

so more than likely its been rekeyed at some point

did you stick a hu101 pick tool in there??

    Hi sleepy

Thanks for taking time to reply 👍🏻

The car has definitely not be re-keyed and I’m pretty sure it’s the HI198T blade that Rapid refers to. Have ordered a 2017 Lishi to try it. I’ll try updating software on A9 maybe if I’m lucky this key will be on it

    Pretty sure?

Did you stick a 101 pick in it?

Does a cut hu101 go in??

No mate not near car I was sent code by email. Only shows 1 code for Ford on instacode so cut it to that didn’t work. There must be a difference in HU101 pick and Ford 17 pick. I’ll try both when at car next week. Very limited info on this key even though it’s a very common blade and 2 years old now. I don’t think picking and decode will be a major issue it’s cutting the friggin blade that’s the challenge
