Gloss paint or concrete
For those garden enthusiasts, I have purchased a mountfield petrol self propelled roller mower so l have a striped lawn. I watched the videos from YouTube and basically run the mower up and down at the highest cutting level. The strips look great for two days and then gradually fades away by day 3 or 4.
Any ideas to how l can have these lovely stripes for much longer - seems a lot of hard work to have this affect for a couple of days
Any help or advice would be very much appreciated
Thank you :-)

Grass length may be the reason. Because lawn striping relies on grass bending.. So, grass blades need enough length to bend.. the higher the bend is..the longer the stripes remain

Perhaps his cutting height is higher - that will help stop the lwan going patchy and also emphasise the stripes, because it's only a factor of whch way the leaves are leaning.
You can also add stripes with a broom!
Apparently, you have good conditions for the growth of the grass, that it gains strength and levels so quickly after it has been crushed by a lawn mower. Or the type of grass that grows quickly. Lawn grass is different, it grows from different seeds. Maybe your lawn is made up of varieties that are simply not suitable for streaking.
