    Default BMW ECU programming lesson

    Hi all
Can anybody give me a quick lesson on how to programme a used EDC16 ECU into a 2005 320D BMW. I am not to clever on BMW and is not my strongest point.

I have done one before by swapping eprom and realigning Cas and DDE, but that does not seem to work on these cars I am trying to do.
Guess I must have been lucky last time.

I have tried reading old ECU's via BDM, to try and clone, but will not read (water damaged)

I can read ISN and Vin from CAS unit, but not sure how to enter into new/used ECU?

I have ISTA, but expert mode is not working. If I got expert mode working? would I be able to complete task? Also have inpa,WinKFP and NCS Expert, but not to familiar how these work, so never used them.

If anybody could give me any pointers on how to complete task or advice what software I would need? that would be great.

    Regards
    Adrian

you need to read isn from dde and write it to cas, or read isn from cas and write it to dde. which ever is easier for you. then do sync(realign) if needed.

    Hi
Thank you for reply. Is the ISN in 95640 DDE eeprom or in the flash?
If i load flash or eeprom? would you be able to read ISN for me?

I have tool to change CAS ISN, but not to change in DDE
    Regards
    Adrian
