not quite true , it has all the current key programming coverage of im608 , but , im508 will not do mqb all keys lost once released on im608 , it also wont do some mercedes functions , and its likely some new functions will be limited to 608 as silly not to , im508 is great for now , but i suspect it will be im608 needed going forward or shooting themselves in foot , plus the im608 brings alot of diag to the table if it all works, so the way i understood it was im508 great as for now tool but im608 is the the future tool so sounder investment for me.

Like a lot of tools Autel claims are exaggerated MQB AKL doesn’t work been following it closely so their claims are not accurate. I suspect xhorse will crack this soon as they are working on it as are many others.

I’m using online sync files that do work and soon prices will drop so will be even cheaper

Mercedes I have pretty much covered with vvdi mb that is very strong on these it will do a lot of Mercedes Autel can’t so not fussed about MB

Diagnostics I have covered pretty much so don’t see the need for more diagnostics tooling

Everyone has different needs but I can’t justify the extra money for limited additional features

I can save £2000 on tool and £350 subs that could go towards another tool

What os your bmw machine coverage?

Launch for diagnostics and other generic tools

I’m not disputing the 608 could be a fantastic bit of kit it’s just not suitable for what I need it for. The key end will do me fine.

A good lump of the sub money will be for diagnostic updates and I just don’t need it to be honest

Really have no interest in coding modules etc have enough on my plate doing keys

It’s like me buying LR pathfinder it’s a brilliant bit of kit but I can’t justify buying it as have done a handful of LR-Jag in the last 6 months

Have a top class man who I farm a lot of coding and other stuff out to as way over my head he’s good and easy to pay

in which case you have researched it fully and deduced that im508 fits your immediate needs best , so the choice is right one for you

Bought mine from mobileecotunning

Had a decent price on that. From what they advertised im508 will do mqb akl as well . I have been using it for the last 3-4 weeks , done about 25 jobs so far with that and the only one that let me down was reading pin on astra h ..

I just started a month ago as well so for me it was a really good decision to go with autel

I heard from one China seller yes, but till 1 july, after july 1, will not be IP blocked ( only in preorder now and only new batch)

I wait also for July 1 to order new batch IM508.

So if the new batch will be IP block free, what happens to the units purchased before 1st of July? Many sellers stating no IP block any more in Europe or UK. its confusing...........
