    Kd remotes can be used.
You need to remove kessy module.should be on driver side under mats.
Read eeprom and make dealer key with 7th byte and learn it.
Don't know if avdi can do it, probably yes.
    I used vvdi2.

If I remember well kd remotes are working to start the car but the buttons not working well...
Something like trunk button will unlock the car, lock button will unlock trunk..I don't remember well.
I also seen they done an update on a8 remote.it may work well now.

Is the original key and remote are integrated? ie id 46 remote gets programmed at the same time? or is it a manual procedure? i have to get more info from the garage but he said this car has normal ignition.(no push start) so maybe no kessy, not sure will let you know. Do you know what p/n it is? i have only found one A8 in the old zone, thanks

    Yes,is id46 in circuit.
    Remote will program automatically.
I used touareg key, worked well.
I'm not sure if all a8 are keyless but the one I've done had ignition too.
Ignition will turn on and start when pressing the brake pedal.
Keyless keys 4e are very hard to find.did not found on eBay or China.
