does anyone know how to connect ktag to read the transmission module on a mercedes w211

yes .. you will provide as i remember positive negative k line and boot line .... you will see on ktag on mercedes (egs52) ... if you can't this way try with universal programmer

i need a pictorial instruction how to connect a ktag since the ktag help does not have a connection instruction, it just shows the place on the module where it connects without any instruction

No ... read from old write on new one ... it contains gear ratio data differences ... this transmission is 722.6** .. there is differences
