Bmw X5 E70 grrr from automatic gearbox

X5 3.0D E70 automatic gearbox

Car come in because shut off in mountain.
Twice.
Car has been towed by other, maybe local mountain folk.

Scan for fault: injector 4,5,6 activation

So I put the car in NEUTRAL to lift it with the bridge and renew fuel filter.
To replace filter you have to partially remove 3 underbody panels.
Car has been in mountain so underbody has little rust in every screws
and all the visible parts has been spray paint.
After replace I start the engine with the car lifted and let it at idle
for 15 minutes to check for leaks before closing the three panels.

Then I shut off the engine with car lifted and in neutral.
Then I returned the car to the floor and decided to go out.
The car in the very first meters continuosly returned in P
even if I select D or R.
Also while running in the very first meter every now and then
there was a grrr noise from the gearbox.

Is it because the car has been in neutral with engine running?
Is it beacuse battery was low on voltage (but crank with its battery )
Is it because the car has been towed twice by mountain folk
and maybe didn't use the appropriate procedure to tow it? (and damaged it)

A scan with the tool give an error in the gear lever, but once erased the are no error.
A test in the street show the car perform very well.

Transfer case problem

Or check if oil level In gearbox is ok

Check that all tires have the same hight value

Regarding injector 4,5,6 activation for sure inj 5 or 6 when is hot bobine goes in short

When engine stops and cannot be started and this error is displayed unplug inj 5 and try to start engine. If start this inj is in short, if not unplug inj 6 but reconnect inj 5, and so one

Was it towed with a mountain goat or tow truck, all wheels off ground

why not ask the owner full story.

lot of bmw put box in park when door open, could it be something opened door mid flight and damaged box

Nice idea meaty but most trany's wont engage park or reverse, if the speed sensor reads more than 8mph approx.

To change 6 injectors, what is the total time required?
I ask this to prepare the invoice for the customer.
It's ok the time given from the office software, if you have.

That’s all well and good but the office software time is when was new and was done 10 times

Initial fault is engine die, sporadic.

Time required for 6 injectors is 4 hours, that's Alesso calculation if I have to
remove intake manifold, many screws.
Remove and insert.

If:
* intake manifold is ok
* intake manifold sealant is ok
* other things that could be wrong

On Monday I will order the injectors.

You are changing injectors,,,, very brave move to make with no testing to prove or not prove. What will you do if its not the injectors. Who will pay? When customer comes, do you say "here is keys, its not fixed but you owe $1500". If you are sure its injectors, take them out and send for testing first.

Car will be sent to scrapyard for these reason:
* injectors bill too high to be accepted
* has gearstick fault
* has AC fault

*has bought a dgiaghuar (same body style)
