MPPS V18 / V21 Clone - SIMOS Unlock

Hi,

Is anyone able to confirm if the SIMOS unlock (specifically looking for SIMOS 8.4) listed on v18 and/or V21 clone MPPS is via OBD or requires opening the ECU?

KESS V2 will do it but just via tricore adaptor and they're a pain to open so looking for an alternative.

Even with euro(purple) clone it's impossible?

Thanks! I just do this as a hobby so not worth buying original tools so I guess I’ll keep opening them until something comes along.
