see with light if the display gives information, whether it is a backlight problem or a display control mcu problem

Same fix I have posted before, 122 resistor (1200) Ohm above the transformer.

And make sure the getter in the bottom right of the display is still black. If it is white the display has been cracked, probably by some savage trying to remove the lens with a screwdriver.

hmm must be something different in my cases.
I got cluster here again with info display not working, I replaced the resistor, reflowed all the legs to the display but display doesn't come up anyways. CPU must be good tho because all the gauges and PRND321 works fine.

    Hotwire voltage?

Bottom right of display still black?

Have you watched any of the videos on jeffescortlx youtube like I suggested years ago?

There is no magic bullet for any problems in these clusters.

    Test, test, test!

    yes, yes and yes.

maybe cpu is bad afterall, because after power cycling the display booted up once.

thanks again for your great expertise and help.

I have had the same issue before ... on the back side of the pcb you will find a row or resistors that should appear brownish and likely over used over the years. Apply new solder to both ends of these and then check the brightness. 7 out of 10 times this will cure the issue.
