Default EDC16u1 reset obd write counter

Hello, i need to reset obd counter on EDC16u1 ECU. I red that kess can do this. But i not cerntain which version also if it can be done over obd.

Is there some good clone tool that can reset counter over OBD port without needing to solder it to ECU and do it over BDM?

    Hi
to read it on table you can use lots of programmers like UPA, Carprog, Xprog etc.. i do have Kess but never tried to read only eeprom data with it, coz its more secure to read it with the eeprom removed from board. i tried lots of times reading onboard with clip adapter for carprog but many time reading are wrong. so most secure way is to remove eeprom first then read it. Here you a picture where eeprom on edc16u1 should be. Eeprom type is ST 95320wp

    Hi

Avdi can do it thru OBD but not safe because it edit Ram before persisting in eeprom.

Maybe old vagdashcan tool too. Never tested.

If you read eeprom manually, you can edit following addresses (edc16):

    programming attempts: $41
    Successfull attempts: $42
    Flash tool code: $43-$48
    Vmax (x100): $48E-$48F, $4CE-$4CF

But I'm not sure if you need update checksums.

Please keep me informed if you test a tool that can update thru obd2 plug.

    regards,
