yes lottery for sure , my AK90 do not even write the correct vin to the chip but it start with the key
Ask a dumb question and become wise for the rest of your life, but act wise and stay dumb
Where in the UK are you?
Newport, South Wales just a bit far from Glasgow
Well followed suggestions given reloaded software, read EWS module saved file it shows 1 to 3 slots used.
Coded new Diamond key to slot 3 tried in car still no go BMW Scanner shows Wrong ID when key used wrong Fixed, Random and Password.
Unable to write to EWS Module it fails every time with the AK90. Do I invest in getting BMW Editor, that looks better at accessing the processor on the board it plugs in as opposed to the hit and miss method with the AK90?
Probably cheaper all round if I seek out an auto locksmith and get a key sorted that way, just hate having one working key.
Wait is this the first time using this ak90????
If so yoj probably got a bad one

Yes new machine, also tried with another machine from a buddy, same result although mine reads the EWS where his fails to do so with no touch pin faults continually. Mine fails to write to the EWS, both are good at reading keys. Don't think I will be replacing the AK once bitten twice shy as they say.
prob need to cutout spacers inside socket on buddies unit

Already cut the spacers out didn't make a blind bit of difference to his, not the best kit out thre to do this job.
Weird mine works perfect

on price $12 in Aliexpres with free delivery can't expect too much
must be happy if the car still work
Had another go with the AK90 and getting no crank keys every time even with fresh EWS bin files.
Last read of EWS came out with a totally strange Vin number and in analysis showed all slots used, I know for a fact that I have never written anything back to the EWS when coding keys so I dont know how its showing all slots as used when original read when I started all this showed only 1,2 and 3 key slots used. Anyone out there got a EWS Editor, that looks a far better system to use, giving up with the AK90 its just not doing what its supposed to do. Will have to put BMW Scanner on the car and have a look at what that says about the keys in use to cross check what the AK90 is reporting.
My working key still works as it has done all along.
All this info wow.
Look just write new pcf7935 to new un-used slot ie 6 -selecting pcf option, and then write back to eeprom.
It'll work
Have got new chips comming so will be giving it another go when they come in, bit loath to use the AK90 to do it with the results I've had so far people have suggested that I may have a bad AK90, reads keys ok but reading EWS hit and miss, latest with completly random Vin appearing might support that view.
