    Default bmw e46 vin change

hello guys , im in the middle of my e46 manual swap and found that my cluster has been changed by previous owner. yep the vin is incorrect this wont let me code some things in car so i came here looking for a solution.

read on some other forums tha i need to replace the cluster eeprom chip and reprogam it. i used pasoft to get the bin file from the cluster and modify it to have the vin back to 0 but dont know if thats the way to go also and most importantly is that i need to know wich chip to buy, the one in my cluster says b96ag b58 608 and the algorithm on pasoft says 93s66-e46, the cluster fgstnr says eh75365 and my cars vin is cb24731

please let me know if im missing something cause this is my first time diy programing :P

Yes you are missing a bit, read the eeprom and post dump. Or use NCSexpert to flash your LCM VO to your Kombi.

You ideally could do with reading the eeprom with a programmer like xprog or upa.. then if you upload it here someone shall change the chassis number to the correct one and also the mileage..
you do not need to replace the eeprom on this type of cluster..
