    Default Renault ECU decoder Connections

    Hi all,

Im have got a Safir 2 ECU i need to decode, with the ecu decoder, But im not to sure about the connections. You need a relay for this type of ECU which iv not used before. How do you connect up the relay, and anyone got a link for one that would be sutable? Also, connecting power etc to the box, do you just splice it into the 12v and ground cables running from the decoder?

Any help / pics would be great! i have the manual, just not sure how to connect.

    Thank You
    Jamie.

Any 12V DC relay with reasonable power consumption. You need also a lamp - max 3W, that's the limit.

Done a fair few units, but never a Safir2, I have a couple of questions can you help...

Does the bulb flash continuosly during decode ?

When its decoded does the light still flash when powered up on bench ?

    For safir 2 ecu:
bulb flashes as decoding m8. before start decode must be in advanced 1, press mode button once.then start button

Will go on for about 4 hours m8

After decode bulb stays lit continously bar on early safir2 where bulb comes on then goes off after few seconds

Thank you obdmaster for this information..

My decoder is faulty, it's not driving the relay through yellow cable, checked joints etc.....

I carried out the process in this post: http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums...2-43kw-151224/ It has deffo cleared the IMMO just need to hook up to a car later and see if the unit still works

If i don't call back on this by the end of today its worked...

    Darwins
