    Default BMW MV1746 DME

Admins please merge this thread with my other thread, i realised i posted this in the wrong place.
    correct post is here
    https://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forum...46-replacement

    Hi,
I have a BMW MV1746 tricore DME 7603575, ( BMW 2010 X1 E84 18i N46T Auto RH drive) It was water damaged and the BDM points are damaged beyond repair.
I have managed to repair most of the board to run the car and it runs fine until you turn off the car.
Once the board heats ups the cars fails to restart, it will just crank and won't fire. if the DME is cold it will work as normal and you can start it no problems as many times as you like until it gets to about 30 deg C.

So I bought a Donor start up kit , from another MV1746 vehicle E90 320i 7589705 same engine replace the DME< CAS< and key so the car can be driven but obviously the CAS and DME are not coded to my car so it has ABS and KM tamper dot and service problems as I expected and knew this would happen but for a quick solution to be able to drive the car it was worth it temporarily.

So without bricking both DME and my car could someone give me some facts as no one seems to know:
    a. can MV1746 be cloned?
    b. How do you code the new donor DME to my old CAS?

I was told you could recode the Donor DME to match my original CAS & Key.

My question is what do I need to do this ?
I can get the Original ISN, I have INPA, WINKFP, FVDI, E/F scanner tools and BDM100.

Does anyone know how to clone the DME MV1746 from the pins that connect to the loom? is this possible ?

Or Is it easier just to recode the donor DME to the old CAS?

    Thanks in advance.

Or at least ISN from both ECU if you can read it.

Maybe e/f Scanner can pull isn out of ecu but don’t know as I don’t have these tools that you own

Engine ecu should be possible with ktag
CAS any programmer that can handle 9s12 with mask 0l01y or 0l15y

    Thanks Chris,

Yes I can get the ISN.
I can get CAS dumps, but I am stuck on DME dumps. Will K-tag do tricore MV1746? I was told it couldn't if so I can just clone the old DME.

Also my problem is my BDM points are damaged, is there any diagrams for pin outs directly from the DME to work with BDM100 or K-tag?

Also I'm getting side tracked as all I need is directions on how to make the donor DME work with the original CAS & key.

Can a DME be over written in WINKFP using the numbers of the original DME as in a DME flash and change the VIN ?
I am unsure if I might damage the new DME by doing a normal flash.
    usual way:
    1. Comfort mode2. Choose ZUSB - select ECU family (don't select ZB number)
    3. Update ZUSB - select the same ECU family
    4. Enter VIN - must be full VIN with 17 letters
    5. Done
    6. Prog...

How hard is it to match the new DME to the Original CAS?
How is the best way to do this?

It’s hard to explain as my English is not best.

In short you have to write ISN from ecu to CAS or vice versa.

    Im waiting for your files

    Hi Chris,
Thanks in Advance here are the dumps for the CAS.
If you can put just the donor ISN only into the Original Bin I can try to see if that works, as the original CAS VA is correct to the car.

This ISN works with the donor DME, can this be put into the original CAS to work?

This is the original CAS ISN the DME was replaced due to water damage and set is from different FA VA.
