    Default Golf 5 IC swap to maxidot

    Hello to all,
    -try to swap original IC with maxidot screen IC on a G 5 1.9 tdi 2007
    1. Copie the 24c32 eeprom from the original IC and writem on the Maxidot IC.
    - result was red screen with error message instead of mileage value.
    - immo kick in engine starts and cut off.
    2. Modified the Maxidot IC eeprom file from 810 to 9B0 with the original IC immo data.
    - result was mileage displayed correctly engine starts and immo kick in and engine stops.
    3.What is the next step? To try to read the microcontroler and also swap the microcontroler files.
    4.Also need the pin code to try code with vcds.

    Attached the original IC eeprom file / maxidot file and photos with the IC part numbers.
    5. Tools that i have to do this job: xprog 5.55 , vcds and one inoperative k+can commander 1.4

    Any help is apreciated :-)

    Hello,

    In order to learn the new instrument cluster with VCDS you need the PIN from both instrument cluster. The easiest way to extract PIN code it's via OBD.
    Another method will be to extract the PIN code from both ECUs (if you have the maxidot cluster ECU as well).
    You can also make IMMO off and put the new instrument cluster with maxidot (to get rid of the IMMO OFF dtc you have to use the original maxidot ID48 Chip and put it in your own key)

    The easiest way to program the new instrument cluster it's via OBD with specified software like Abrites/FVDI.
