This claims to root the portal SuperOneClick Can Now Root Gingerbread Devices but I prefer to use odin. It is more reading and learning to start with but if anything goes wrong or you delete the wrong file after rooting there is more chance that you will be able to bring your phone back to life without too much stress. One click rooting is a simple option but doesn't give the user an insite into just how much damage can be done very quickly with the click of one button under superuser privelages. I strongly recommend a good dose of reading to get a better understanding of the way the android system works before letting yourself loose on the operating system of your new toy.

You must already know as an Android user that being root or superuser allows you to have full access to the system. That is to say, you can manipulate it completely, being able to uninstall preinstalled applications (the so-called bloatware) or install Custom ROMs, for example.
