A few months ago had a fellow trader in - bit of a pannick - Reanault Megraine - with the arse sticking out.

Basically it was an a/c fault, he had probed, prodded and regasses, new trianry switch, and was confident in it being the ecu.

Being specalists in damaging vechiles, the effort required to remove the front bumper, verses struggling and condeming and innconet ecu, nil poi.

Had the bumper off in seconds (standard Frogench remove the visable screws - then close eyes and yank) - wire had pulled out of the trianary switch.

The hardest part of the job was fixing the 1 wire - the rest was really easy.

Total time, including insults was 1 heure.

It is just the frogench, over the years what have been the hardest to work on, no thought what so ever goes into general maintenance, like for for example changing the oil and filter, on most of the jap cars the oil filter is just above the drain plug on the same side of the engine, you can drain oil and change filter into a small container in one go and not make a mess, unlike the Rens, the models with air con you can get anything on the ~~~~~ing filter to get it off, when you do the oil runs down the front of the engine and sits in the ridge at the bottom of the block then drips off the whole way along onto the subframe and makes a right ~~~~ing mess

Audi S4 V8 must be the worst ****-up as it takes 15.9 hours labour to change a exhaust manifold. I thought the people were talking crap until I did a couple myself. Complete front end off vehicle, radiator, air-con, complete engine, wiring loom, you name and you have to remove it. Autodata lists it as 15.9 hours chargable but its more like 25 hours to replace them.
