Mini r50 dash

HI.
new to all this .
Bought mini cooper r50 whit out dash .Car starts all ok. Get second hand dash from brakers istall . But imideanlty heater fan stops working and headlights .
Dash shows milage but gides not workink .Do i need change vin or dash is faulty??

What tool do you use?
I have a dash on which I want to update only the mileage and pass it from Miles to KM (Harware 09 and Software 19).
