yea that is a normal read for a 93c56. This chip only holds a few settings. Nothing fancy.

If its like the Nissan's we have here in the states then yes but it is only sync data from a immo/bcm. Just copy original ecu's 93c56 and write it to replacement. Save both files and compare them if you want to play around other then that not much else to do .

Ok thanks
From what I've read there is a separate immo box on these cars.
But if I just put this new ecu in the car it won't start, if I put the original ecu back in it starts straight up. So there must be some immo information on the new ecu.
So you think there is a small amount of immo information in my 1KB file?
BTW... thanks again for the programmer recommendation, I'm already thinking of other electronics I have that I can bring back to life.....
Yes, there is a few bytes of data stored in this eeprom that contains the synchronization data between the immo/bcm and ecm.
Keep in mind you are not cloning the entire ECU, This chips job is only to hold a few things in memory. Immo Sync data being the main one.
The engine programming and controls are stored in other area's but as long as you matched part/software numbers then you do not need to worry about this.
