Default MERCEDES ML320 W164 ECU cloning HELP please !!

Hi there, I hope someone can help me and show me the right way to go. 2007 mercedes ML320cdi ECU bosch edc16cp31
I have water damage ecu but managed to clean it and used Ktag to read it. when transfered data to second ECU car no crack. I can see correct VIN and there is no faults related immo etc. Is it need any sync with Ignition module? any tool can do it apart of STAR?

I have 3 ideas, please tell me which better and what can be done? I will need your help with any of them
    a) sync ignition with new cloned ecu
    b) buy new ecu kit and change vin number in ecu and ignition
    c) virgin the ECU and try to sync everything together.

If the hardware number is the same , just read and write full bdm file.

Every time when you opening ecu you taking the risk of damage it. I'm always using esd etc. So try reduce the risk as much as possible. Just wondering if need sync with ignition

1, Renew the ecu, using vvdi mb or cgdi, and program it.
2, Or cut casing to get to bdm positions.
3, Or use the new magicmotorsport bench option.

I might need new ecu then because everyone is saying 90% of the ECUs are killed when open. If I get full set ecu and ignition how difficult is to change vin number to match other modules??
