    Yes you have an issue.

    In MegaTest, if you enable both 12VDC and 5V, with no adapter on the DB44 connector and no External Power, then total drawn power on USB is less than 500mW. And all components keep cool.

    You can see from schematics that the main board has it's own 3.3V regulator and don't need the Power board for supplying the CPU. Hence you can run the scripts without it.

    Regarding your triple 5V regulators on U2, look at the schematics, it's U12. The middle pin U2.2 is connected to C12, C22, R63, D20, R5 and Q11. On our boards it's resp. C10, C9, R25, D5, R10 and Q4.

    On my Power board, taken apart:
    - Between U2.1 and U2.3 I get 500Ω in both directions (this is R25).
    - Between U2.2 and U2.3 I get 2MΩ, and the protective diode 560mV.
    - Between U2.2 and Gnd I get 2kΩ

    Hello,

    Thanks xlv600 for your answer ,

    Yes if I dont connect ex. 12V then all the components keep cool (I get the same 9.81 & 11.67V at this situation)

    in my board :
    - U2.1 and U2.2 => 500 ohm (OK)
    - U2.2 and U2.3 => 3.7 M.ohm and above (its variable!!)
    - U2.2 and Gnd. => about 1.85 K.ohm for me.

    I cant see any big difference , then is it normal ??

    Hello to all. Did you try to power the board outside of programmer. Only power 12v and ground to board. What ia happening then? When I get home I will make pinout of power board and upload it here.

    @hcip already did it on her own Power board -> here in the iProg clone repair thread (empty pins are connected to Gnd on our Chinese clone)

    Without Main board, no load and no voltage selection neither, switching mosfet will be off

    Hi to all,

    my board has not any problem until I switch on power output either +3/5V or +10/12V , and after that the U2 regulator begins to become hot and hot...

    this happens only if I connect external +12V power , and without 12v I dont see any problem .

    could you please check your programmer in similar condition?
    My U2 regulator becomes hot after about 30 seconds .

    thank you.

    Hi

    What happens if you use your board without connecting the external power supply? The iprog is supposed to work without the external power supply too. Post a picture of your power supply board.

    Hi fuzz1 & PSAcars,

    If I disconnect external 12V it workes without any problem and stays cool.

    PSAcars, it doesn't matter for power board if it's on the main board or on the bench , if the external 12V not connected it works without any over heating !!
    and output voltage (3-5 or 10-12v) is same if I connect external power or not, and if its on the main board or on the bench .
    All is OK until I connect 12V external power and switch on the power mode output to get 3,510 or 12V output.

    Hello to all. Ok, that is good. Try to remove C9, D5, C10 to separate output of U2 from the rest of the schematic, if after separation U2 is heating again you have problem with U2 itself.

    If I remove D5 diode , U2 not overheated.

    Hello to all. That is not good, this means that the hi current consumers is on the exit of U2. Next thing on the 5v line is dc/dc converter. Can you check with current meter what is the current drawn from the usb ?
