I want to ask if I can install a BMW EWS emulator (cheap version not the ori from carlabimmo) directly to ecu, if after engine upgrade EWS not existing?

Is general question, for example I had an e36 with Bosch ecu dme with 28f010 flash, car was 1992 without ews model and engine upgrade with 1997 , I try with squ of 68, but not work correctly, with carlabimmo v96 works fine, but is expensive, almost 70 euros...
