    Hi Moe1988,

I finally received my Xprog hardware.
Should I connect the EXTAL pin it's telling that in some cases we don't connect it to PCB?

    thanks

You only need xtal if its secured. If unsecured just need VCC, GND, RESET, BKGD.
Don't know which it is. Usually dash units are unsecured tho.

your files are not good, i dont see mileage and i dont see vin number.

mileage should be stored in addresses 0C00 to 0C7F

Vin number should be stored in address 0E34

    * I also noticed that the first file you posted has a different Vin number than Vin you provided in your last post.

    Good luck.

    Default EUREKA RESOLVED

    EUREKA guys,

I want to provide a clear understanding to anyone who is going to deal with the same situation of having mini cooper dash with µc 3K91D and wanting to update the mileage or VIN number by using Xprog chinese clone (as I've found many people after having solved their issue not providing a feedback that's not cool I think...).
    You need:

    1) Xprog box chinese clone (yes it works!!)
    2) The adapter named: HC(s)12 BDM adapter P/C: 1-002-0017 (it's coming with the Xprog kit if you bought it with the adapters see picture attached)
    3) A plug to connect Xprog to a 12Volt DC power source and the USB cable
    4) The correct pin connection (see pictures attached)
    5) Lunch Xprog software
    6) Select your device freescale in secured mode and, very important! what we want to read is absolutly not the flash of the µc which contain the program of the dash but what we want is the EEPROM of the µc, it is there where the VIN and Mileage are stored. For mileage it is from adress 0x400 to 0x470 and for VIN it is between 0x630 and 0x640. (I've attached my file)

I still have now 3 questions if someone can help:
    1) Why are the last 5 16 bits of the last adresse of mileage storage area changed? Can I change it?
    2) Why is the VIN not complete, some caracters are not shown?
    3) How do I switch the unit from miles to Km is it in the flash memory?

    thanks

Its a good idea to read eeprom first and save it. Then read flash and save it. Its not uncommon for flash to get damaged. Its good idea to have back up.
