Default BMW DME Mileage Reset, How?

    Hi,

What way is the easiest to reset mileage on DME/ECU MEVD172Y and other BMW DME's? I have BMW Explorer but it dont work for all ECU's. I also have CG Pro 9S12 so I can read most of the DME's, what is the easiest way for me to do this?

    Thanks!

Of course and it won’t reset mileage. Only via eeprom can be done. But also hours should be corrected plus liter consumption if you want to make proper mileage correction.

What do you recommend to use to read the eeprom? I got the CG 9s12 pro but it only seems to be able to read the ISN only though. So what you are saying is that its not possible to reset DME mileage through ISTA-P > flash ECU?

Regarding hours I am aware that they need to be edited aswell, but depending on how many miles the vehicle is corrected mostly you dont need to adjust it as you can just claim its been cruising in the city at low speeds mostly and not highways etc.

All can be done by editing the eeprom of ecu.

I understand, the thing is I have never opened up an ECU before. Do you possibly have a picture of which eeprom chip it is that should be read in the ECU? And what are usualy the chips id so I can check if CG 9s12 can read them.

Thanks bearheroes, I appreciate it alot that you trying to help me!
