Default Volvo SRS Crash Data Help P31406637

Volvo SRS Crash Data Help P31406637

    Hi!

I found a repaired file (crash removed) in the forum with the exact same Bosch Airbag Module number and serial
but the question is (for future knowledge) would that work to write into the chip or will it give errors as maybe some other
information is stored in the 95128 chip?

Anyhow, I would love to be helped out with this crash data.
    It is for following module:
    Bosch P31406637
    0 285 012 268

    Thanks in advance!

    Best regards,

VIN number is stored in eeprom, you would need to change this for started however i have never attempted this on Volvo's.

Your cleared file attached, pass in PM

Thank you for your answer and the help with the file.
I will test it later on and try to compare this one, the original and the one I found on the internet.
If I get the chance, I will test the downloaded file after changing VIN just for curiosity and let you know as well

Airbag curtains only deployded. I dont know if it was because of the file or because i lifted up the airbag module and tried to make sure the cable was inserted all the way but suddenly BOOM. When connecting it at start it was no problem so most likely not the file. Anyhow the airbag cables was connected but one of them had loose plastic cover that holds the cable, I just wanted to make sure and never loosened the cable, apposite, without removing it tried to make sure it was connected. Suddenly as mentioned BOOM in only airbag curtains.

Do you have a clue why that happened?

The airbag message was still visable in cluster, I believe because CEM module never got cleared from the airbag message. Tried to clear it with AutoProPad with no success and finally when I thought to check the cable and to try reset again when the airbag deployded.

Any ideas why? My mission was only to fix the file and clear the airbag from cluster.

The curtain airbags is not same number as OEM airbag but they where compatible.

I thought to connect resistors tomorrow, repair the file again, and try to clear CEM module just to see what happens.

Is there any risks? Should I be worried about the steering wheel airbag, passenger airbag or something else?

Did the airbags deployded only because they where not OEM part number?

Thanks for all the answers and help.

    Best regards,

I do not think the file itself could do it.
More likely error causes inside module or from moving it around and wiggling the wires. I never do that.

Yes ofcourse, how stupid of me. A friend of mine told me that these Volvo airbags have a sensor or weight/compass thing that when it is upside down or feel any vibration by movement it will deploy roof curtains. What a bad luck.

Anyhow.. I will install resistors tomorrow, repair the file again now and I will not be touching the airbag module again after connecting it.
I will try to bring a better device with me tomorrow that will clear the CEM module as well because that was the only issue. AutoProPad couldnt do it, why I dont know.

Anyone tried resetting/clearing CEM with the AutoProPad and had better luck ?

    Best regards,

A stupid question (and not maybe) ..
Will measurement of deployded airbag resistance be OK or must it be a undeployded airbag to know the resistance?

You should always disconnect the battery when connecting/disconnecting the airbag ECU, especially with Volvo. Also make sure its bolted down before plugging into the loom.

Put a resister in the curtain airbag plug, re-write the clear file and follow the steps as above, any faults left over post them on here

    Hi,

Yeah bro thanks very much for your reply.

I just noticed when opening the airbag module the smell and see that one of the C271471 cpu's has a burned hole in to the chip.
Does it work for a newer car like this to use any other airbag that is compatible and then only re-write this file above or no?

    Thanks in advance,

    Best regards,

I've never tried with Volvo, you can try write the eeprom dump to another ECU with the same part number and see if it works

I believe that might work yes but in that case if only with same part number then it's safer to do a read on the second airbag and make crash delete on that one to just in case.

I wonder.. Have you or anyone else here on the forum ever tried replacing the 48034 C271471 chip with a new blank one?

The thing is, It's kind of a hurry with this car because It must pass inspection with a deadline date. That is why I try to figure out how to solve this.

    Thanks for all the help

You need to read resistance before it blows.

You can use this file on another same part number module. Will work ok.

    Hi again,

Sorry for my late answer. I revieced the car to my shop the other day but just had chance to check it out.

I dont know if the crash file is not good or if I maybe need to reset something manually in the CEM module (dont believe so but anyhow).
Does anyone know why there is two types of error in each "category". for example Driver airbag stage 1, I get one low restistance, intermittent and one high restistance permanent.
Tried with resistors but didnt help, the errors does not go away.

I will try to borrow a Volvo Dice from a friend tomorrow and see if that makes a difference but I believe the repaired crash file I use is corrupt/bad.
    Thanksful for any help.

    *Sorry for bad picture.
