Default Vito W639 eis not reading the ir key

    Hello guys,

    Vito 2004 W639.
    Respons to remote ok.
    Not turning ignition.
    Elv is ok.

1 Key present. Reading by obd, shows key data.
Reading by IR using MB cgdi, nothing.

Is there a reading coil, ir reader diagnostic guide.
Or is just swapping the coil part the best way?

    Greetings Robbert.

ps to buy the same eis, to clone if needed.
I have to look for the same partnumber, and the Q5 that is written on it????
There are 2 processors inside, mine does have 2 1L02M

    Thank you guys,

In my case, lock does not unlock elv, not turn eis.
I just checked, there is no antenna coil signal coming from the eis when i insert key.

I have a used vito eis, with different numbers, and the mask off 1 of the 2 processors is different.

Hoping to fix this coil issue.

These Vito locks, or positioned tilted. So they are a trap for all the dirt that comes near them.
Many have a hard turning point,
Some spray these with WD40, and ruin these locks that way.

Check coils. Center pin is common, each coil should be approx 1.4ohms. wire size is 0.193mm.

Hey I wondered if someone could help me.
I have a Vito w369 and the eis stopped working I have tried a emulator rule out the common steering lock fault and still doesn't work.
The key inserted no lights on dash can't turn and no noise.
I have opened the eis warmed the chips up and tried still nothing then I tested the inner coil pin to centre I have 1.8ohm and the outer pin to centre pin I get nothing.
Does this mean the coil is the problem if so where do I purchase the wire from.
Or if anyone in the UK could fix this for me?

    Thanks

Problem can be with the key or with EIS (EZS).
I personally didn’t had to many Vitos with problem on ESL (ELV).
On your place I would start with the key - just read it with few different key programmers.
If you se that the key is OK, then focus on EIS. Try with few programmers to se if you have communication…
The easiest and fastest way is to clone EIS, if you make sure that is not working properly.

    there are 3 coils,
I am reading about 1.6 ohm on the spare eis nr1 and nr 3 coil.
Hard to tell how the nr 2 coil connects.

On the broken eis, it appears that the 1 coil, nearest to the front is cut somewhere.

    Do you rewire these yourself?
    That is quite a job,

I am considering transfering the coil part from 1 to the other.
Are there some hidden solder points?

The coils are wound from one piece of wire. Front pin - front coil - round the centre pin - rear coil - rear pin. Make sure to clean the coating off of the wire where you solder it to the pins.
No hidden solder joints but you have to be careful with the heat so you don't melt the plastic too much at the other end.
There is a microswitch hidden underneath that will probably be bad. It is the normal style that you find in a lot on keyfobs.
I was forced to learn how to fix these as a client was in a hurry and I couldn't find a second hand switch with the same part number in the UK.
The wire will be green and break when you unwind it. I think there are 20 turns of wire per coil but count them when unwinding to make sure.
