Default Laptop forgets it has a battery

Hi all the little ones laptop was really slow, it is an old laptop now but never mind, so I replaced the HDD with a SSD and installed windows 10.

It’s a Acer aspire 5750, windows seems to work great and it’s quite fast for its age but it keeps forgetting it’s a laptop so won’t power on unless it is plugged in, then got to go to device manager and click on batteries then search for changes and it finds the battery.

But is there a proper way to fix this as it’s a bit complicated to get the little one to do.

Windows update says it’s fully updated, I’ve tried to uninstall the battery then put it back in so it reinstalls but it still does it.

    Anyone got any ideas?

Seems like a faulty battery to me. Have you tried to remove battery and remove ac cord, keep pressing the power on button for 30 seconds, reinstall the battery and try again.

Definitely not a faulty battery lads I’ve tried two brand new ones.

Is it losing the date? If so it could be a bad BIOS/CMOS battery (internal)
Please DO NOT PM me asking for help.
