PassThru: Overview (what's real?)

According to what I see now

PassThru is the direct link to all necessary diagnostic, service and maintenance data for vehicles in accordance with Euro 5/6, and which must be provided by the original manufacturers. for quick and easy access to vehicle data and reprogramming of all modules with original manufacturer data

The PassThru function can be used on all homologated passenger cars available on the European market from the Euro 5 standard such as: Audi, BMW, Chevrolet, Ford, Lexus, Mercedes, Mini, Opel, Renault, Seat, Skoda, Smart, Toyota, Volkswagen

The question is, is it really worth it?
Is anyone using or has used this service?
until what point is profitable?
And all with a valid VCI or interface PassThru?
