Default 2016 Nissan Rogue Smart key not programming

Has anyone encountered an issue with a Nissan Rogue not taking smart key programming? I've tried with several keys, including brand new OEM. I am able to get the ignition on and scan it, and there is only one error code in the transmission, which I can't imagine affecting key programming (though it is a Nissan so, it wouldn't surprise me).

It goes through the full programming sequence until you are supposed to contact the start button with the key. Normally it would light up to show the key is accepted, but the vehicle refuses to accept any key. I am aware of problems with certain BCM in the Nissan, but it doesn't seem to be dead. I can scan it still, and it is showing to be without fault. I checked interior fuses which were okay. I am able to get ignition signal. What is going on? These are usually a fast, easy job, but this vehicle is stressing me out.

Yes it's akl. I tried autel, autopropad and hot wire. It goes complete into programming mode, but keys are not accepted. The start button flashes, and you go to make contact with the button. Not one key would get accepted and the dash to light, even OEM.

You're very lucky it was not an add a key, the customer working key wouldn't have worked either and you could have been blamed for it as the customer came in with a working key
this phenomena is unique to the rogue 14-17,not all but certain BCM with a specific part number, even the dealer with their own scan tool have the same issue , for some unknown reason the BCM simply would not accept any keys ,the only solution is to replace it $$$... I'd rather not take my chances on those ,not worth it

284B1-4BA1A and 284B1-4BA5A are an example but as i mentioned they might work fine or get bricked, it's not any tool fault this could happen with the dealer too.

qashqai j10 is fine and no issues , the qashqai issue is with j11 models using smart key .

juke are normally fine , but when touching the key it must touch dash to side of button rather than the button itself

when you get a bad bcm , it gets stuck in programming mode , no keys work until bcm and steering lock replaced

the issue is best known to affect qashqai j11 , xtrail t32 and rogue models , smart keys only , those using flips are fine .

battery support is essential to maintain constant voltage if having a go

Ok but for this vehicle, it is not staying stuck in programming mode. It eventually exits the programming mode after a certain number of failed programming attempts. But I've tried half a dozen keys and none of them are getting accepted. I think after about 4 attempts it exits programming mode and I can try again, but the keys never take.

I will recheck the part number, but when I had initially it hasn't been a part of the bad BCM that I had known. But I see there are more models than I had to reference so the BCM could be an issue. But it is not an issue of staying stuck in programming mode.
