Thanks a lot

If you happen to be in the same situation then remember - often problem on these is bad soldering after the eeprom work. Had to remove and resolder the MCU two times on one car... then it worked. Clean well after desoldering.

I got the same situation - START ERROR and "----" for the current key in "Actual Values". Sorry for my previous post - it seems I didn't read well what the situation was.
Now I know and found the solution here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iLcMUcScRgE. Thanks to this guy.
Client came with one key so we programmed a new one on 3rd position with success message but without preparing it initially. Maybe second mistake was we also programmed over the original key because we couldn't make it work even after we repaired the error, not sure. The result was we got START ERROR with both keys and "----" for each key in "Actual Values".
So solution is very simple after you chase the panic away.
First prepare a new PCF7935 for ML with the dedicated function inside AVDI BENZ software.
Then check which are the free key slots by opening DAS in diagnostics and clicking "Actual Values". There you can also see the position of the currently working key too and this is important if you still haven't overwritten the original one. Another way to see the position of the currently working key (as in the video) is to open DAS Key learning for W163 and click on "Learn radio code of a new transmitter key" and check the value against "Key in ignition lock". If there you see "Error!!!" it is same as "----" and means you will need to replace the original transponder.
And last - turn ignition with a key with the newly generated TP to position 1 and program it to and empty slot. Wait for some time (at least 10sec) after the message for successful key learning.
Then start the engine and you will see "START ERROR" is gone.
So it was just a dumb mistake done from rushing...
P.S. I forgot to mention we forgot to attach the booster too and car had 11.00 voltage so there was a third negative component. It was too early in the morning and we were still sleeping... But in the end it was possible to fix.
