Default Opel Vivaro 2005-2008 door lock problem

    Hello Dk members,

I have one specific problem with Opel Vivaro 2005-2008.
Customer brought me this van with problem on all door locks. I can use any key or even a piece of metal and lock and unlock all doors without any problem.
Its a constructor van and its full of tools, what can i do to fix that problem? Is it problem with locks or somewhere else.?

If anyone had that problem before, please help.

    Regards

Remove one lock cylinder. And check if the wafers are there, or removed.

If you want to increase the security. Find a supplier in your area with these type of products.

Rapid open these if all keys are lost again

Yup, PSA NE72 or SX9 locks are the most rubbish, total disaster. VA6 ignitions are also piece of junk (not to mention NE72 ignition)

Common to see major issues like this on vehicles this old.

Will the guy actually pay for you to fix?
    Good luck

Yes, this guy want me to fix those locks. I'm not sure what to do. Thiy guy will come again today after work. Firstly i will check if he has remote function in working condition (maybe car was AKL, any other Vivaro had only one driver side door lock), then will check wafers. Not happy with that job. I think this car is frankencar .

The only way to keep this guy from coming back every three months is to install brand new OEM locks. If he balks at the price, just remind him that you do not warranty the locks, and if he wants you to, you would have to charge even more to do that. I would make sure total estimate would be right up there with dealer's price for the job.

    Good advice.

Trouble is being called back in 6-months to fix a cheap repair job. Then nasty phone call saying you didn't do a proper job.
Trying to remind customer you cut corners to save em money don't wash.

We've all been there. Hope it works out. But try new locks and quote whatever you need.
Sceptical as '05 van - I own '04 one and has long over-due drive to scrap yard next week
