Forget!......for you only another new one or used dash.
Dash cpu/flash prepared with eep id.
If you killed 35160 you can't to do with this cluster nothing without id .
Hi, does anybody have an eeprom dump from the cluster/speedometer for this 2015 328i with FEM system. Car starts and runs with no cluster. I broke the 35160WT chip while removing. I have an extra blank chip from xhorse but need good file to put on it. Thank guys.
By the way I am trying to fix the km mi for it with VVDI BMW and VVDI Prog. Smelecom is a little scary for me to use on this car. I will let everyone know results. Just need a good file. Thanks

So you are saying the only solution is to buy a new cluster? pretty sure it is plug and play considering car starts and runs fine without a cluster right now. But if that is true why would a dump from another cluster that is the same model car not work? Copy and Paste.
If anyone has this file please post. I will test and report results.

how bad is chip , unless snapped in half most are repairable , legs broken off?, dremel and solder wires direct , anything to try and get a dump and chip id , a picture of chip may help .
just trying to help

Without id!........No sunhro with cas/fem/bcm,no servis, probably same communication with transfer is fault like in abs/tcm/icm,and...,and..,and.. because no correct distans or samething like this....and red dot up forever!!!
Without right eep id ...cluster just crap!

i agree , but lets just see how bad the chip is it may be salvageable , he has vvdi and a new chip if he can somehow get a good read from the chip and transfer the id and data to it he is almost home and safe, personally i have spent many hours often all nighters and sometimes managed to salvage data just needs lots of coffee and patience

on a footnote as im not sure here but i noticed lots of folk wanting dumps from later bmw dashes virginised etc is this another way around it instead of fitting a new dash (cost) putting a seconhand virginised one in and getting it reprogrammed? just wondering ..
Tried putting another cluster in, it works but lots of things are off about it. It’s seems no good as plug and play. I am going to try and recover the data tonight from the chip, seems to be the only way. Here is a picture of broken chip it’s pretty bad.

Got the data from 24c16 chip that is right next to the 35160WT that I broke... Maybe someone can see if this dump has the i.d.?
If you are blind then take these glassesglasses.jpg and carefully read all the posts!!!...learen.gif

Get a replacement cluster, Change VIn in 35160WT, Code it With Esys

This was the correct answer. Data recovery would have worked as well but eeprom chip was too far damaged. Had vin changed in donor cluster 35160WT chip and had someone else code it to the car. Works perfect. Thanks for everyone’s input. This was a nightmare and expensive mistake. Be careful.

Looking back now I see that Brend was the original correct answer right off the back. I misunderstood a part of each post. Eep id I thought was some magical number that I was looking for. So yes the rest was my ignorance until I saw the same answer written in a simple simple way I could understand. Thanks Brend! No hard feelings Hopefully I appreciate your knowledge.
