Isn't Subaru using MK60EC1 units?
If you can, please post a picture of it here...
If it is really MK60EC1, then I may be able to help you
Hello, I'm trying to find a solution for a EUDM Subaru Outback 2010 (2.5 CVT) with a replacement ABS/ESP-unit from another EUDM Subaru Outback 2010 (2.0 man). The units are completely the same, with the same numbers. Of course, the car is now throwing CEL's; the dealer says that he can't do anything because this situation causes his SSM software to "hang".
The ABS/ESP-unit is from "Ate".
Important note: the original unit is not available anymore...
How can this problem be solved? How can the ABS/ESP-unit be reprogrammed?
Every help is kindly appreciated, thank you.

I can calculate ABS module codings for:
* Continental/Teves MK60EC1 and MK60;
* TRW systems in Passat B6 / B7 / CC /Tiguan;
* MK100;
* Bosch ABS8.2, ABS9.0 and ESP8.2, ESP9.0;
* EBC 460 (UP!, Mii, Rapid, CitiGo, Fabia, Toledo, etc) New!
* ... and other VW/Audi/Seat/Skoda modules.I can assist with repairing \/CDS interfaces.

Hello
I took some pictures once, but pictures of my unit can easily be found by googling "27536AJ001", e.g. at this moment here:
https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/KH8AA...A8/s-l1600.jpg
https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/4eUAA...Ax/s-l1600.jpg

(or the same pictures here in PDF: ABS-module)
I will try to provide as much info as possible, but I don't know if this is a MK60EC1 unit. At first sight, looking at pictures on Google, I don't think so.
1. Subaru part# 27536AJ001 is mentioned on the part itself (note that 27596AJ001 of 27596AJ003 is mentioned in the Subaru databases, so a "9" instead of the "3"); the following is mentioned on the controller side: Ate Controller, 06.2109-5821.3, 06.2619-3523.1, 28.5620-3111.3
2. VIN JF1BR9L95AG004991
3. Subaru Legacy Outback 2.5i, I think Luxury or Limited or Exclusive or something; it was the German full option at that time (MY 2010, but first registered in 11-2009)
4. LHD
5. petrol (and LPG), 2.5 liter, engine code EJ253, CVT transmission
6. Subaru AWD (= all-time 4x4)
7. no start-stop system, only a start button and keyless system
8. no TPMS
9. there is a button to disable the ESP (which Subaru calls VDC) at the position of the driver's left knee
10. there is a hill hold button, which is not activated by default (and which a like to stay not activated by default)
I have the Subaru Select Monitor III software and used it in the past, but I can't currently run it because I'm awaiting a new hard disk.
I hope this helps; thanks on beforehand.
Kind regards

Looks similar to MK60EC1 module, indeed.
But some aspects are different, though.
Firmware may be totally different for Subaru too.
Is there any chance you could find same or similar Subaru somewhere locally, hook up a scan tool to it and read its ABS code?
I could take that code as a base and try to adjust it to your car

In the next days, I will do 2 things:
1. reinstall my computer and then reinstall Subaru Select Monitor III (SSM3)
2. try to contact the buyer of our previous Outback, which is exactly the same as above, except:
- other VIN, of course
- also running on LPG, but different installation
- it is, I think, a Trend version, from Italy
- no start button, no keyless entry, no navigation
Is there another, easier way, other than with SSM, to retrieve the ABS code?
Thanks on beforehand and kind regards, Guy
Of course there must be an easier way for those who specialise in Subaru.
But sometimes other option may not be available

I know that it is possible with the Subaru SSM3 software to "learn" a new ABS/ESP-unit; I've seen this in the menu. Therefore, if you don't manage to find a long code, do you think it would be possible to safely blank the existing code, so that I could proceed with the Subaru SSM3 software and "learn" it as if it were new?
But first of all I ordered a new hard disk for my laptop, then I will install Windows and SSM3 on it and will report again. I also contacted the buyer of our previous Outback, but no response till now. I hope to have more news by Wednesday. Till then: is there another, easier way, other than with SSM, to retrieve the ABS code?
Thanks, Guy

With my new hard disk installed with the Subaru SSM3 software, I think I have bad news: with the Subaru SSM3 software, I don't see any way to change anything in the ABS/ESP-unit.
Please see the screenshots here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1WXK...ew?usp=sharing
@hid3 or others, which other ways do you see to "talk to" the ABS/ESP-unit and change the code? Any help is really appreciated.
Thanks in advance, Guy
Have you tried calling subaru hq in your country and shouting obscenities down the phone
Was Banned For Being Certifiably Insane and Stupid
In my opinion, shouting obscenities is never a solution.
Please keep this thread clean and help me with a technical solution, or call out on your contacts to help me out with this problem; please don't write these kind of remarks here. In my thinking there must be a solution other than the costly official Subaru-solution.
Thanks for your understanding.
