In the official vehicle documents it is noted that the standard VIN is wrong and crossed out. vin struck new in the B-pillar.

Problem is: Navi can not be updated officially - if at some point a control unit needs to be replaced, this is not possible without problems because there is a VIN in the vehicle that is wrong with the ECUs - so the customer wants everything to be original and consistent.

Makes no sense. Unless all 25 modules were all from another or different stolen cars

all 25 control units had the wrong Vin - the thieves had done a good job - now the car is back with the original Vin in all control units.

The thieves had legally obtained papers from an accident car - and wanted to give this identity to the stolen car
