Had some headache with this problem , this code (P2146 00 [232] - Open Circuit/5060 - Supply Voltage for Fuel Injector Group A ) appears randomly at different time intervals.
It looks like this~:
- Engine will shutdown while driving (only while driving)
- After engine shutdown the engine starts normaly everything OK
- lately the problem manifests very often – 5 times/1 km
I did all kinds of measurments and checks(continuity of wires from ECU to injector plug……), including replacing one at a time 1 to 4 injectors with a new one.
In the end I ended up opening wiring as photo attached.
After some….. work hours loosing my patience but trying to act professionally and with back pain - finally found what seemed to be the problem :

• Fuel injector wires rubbing in the wire bundle on the top of the starter motor ( three wires in total)
• See attached photos before and after repair

I share this info here if anyone have this problem - to find here a quick solution : )

Hi, I hope you have solved the issue, but if you haven't. Do you have a wiring diagram for this engine?. There are many power supplies for the ECU. Injectors have high current, so the power supply wires for these will be larger. I would monitor these wires when driving and the fault occurs. Red and violet wires to these pins T94/3, T94/5 and T94/6, thats pins 3, 5 & 6 in the 94 pin connector. Check that the female terminals for these have not expanded and making bad connection to ECU pins. Make the same test at terminals T94/69, T94/87, T94/92. Also check that the earths at T94/1,2&4 stay at 0 volts at all times. Have you coded the injectors after replacing them?. Good luck. Pete

Hello my fellow,
The Wiring repair solved the problem, the car runs now like a Swiss watch.
And YES when the injector was swaped to 1,2,3 and 4 pos. was proper coded.
All this was performed with intuition and a little knowledge of electronic stuff and not with expensive tools.
If you have some fancy wiring diagram(for ECU and..) for this car please post here - this way we will create a pretty thread regarding this problem for all member of this forum. oce it will happen a sectim

hello, I also have a problem with my car. I have a Passat B6 Common Rail CBDC engine and it started to give me problems. Error P2146 appears, is it possible that it is the same for me?
I specify that my car stops very often while driving.
Yesterday, when I started walking around that bundle of cables, the engine running, it suddenly stopped.

Hello,
Possible, but to be sure you should do some check before open the harness.
- remove all 4 injector connector
- remove the ecu connector
- identify on the harness ECU connector the pins (female pins) from all 4 injectors
- check with a DMM cotinuity betwen the all 8 wire
- if you have continuity exemple : between one pin from no1 injector and no 3 injector then is sign of rubing betwen wires
- continuity check to be performed with the DMM at one end on the injector connector and one end on the ECU harness connector.
All clear for you , understand ?

I found the problem. Red wire that went to ground.
