Default Mercedes ml320 w164 odo and speedo not functioning

I have a 2009 w164 with 1 problem that it doesn't log miles(odo) and speedometer doesn't function, instrument cluster and abs report no faults, wheel speeds read correctly in abs and speedo can be actuated with diagnostic tool,3 modules showing dtc,s in relation to this fault are rear sam,c30e,no vehicle speed on can, assyst 9203,not receiving any messages on interior can and parktronic, 9066,implausible can message from instrument cluster vehicle speed, I have checked front and rear sam units for water ingress and tried a different unit from a donor car, replaced cgw module under passenger seat, checked can connections in driver and passenger footwells but still haven't solved this problem, any help would be much appreciated
    Thanks.

I had asked customer and he said it just stopped whilst driving so i have no option but to take him at his word I had considered the can blocker option myself but nothing fitted, battery terminal had some corrosion but nothing major and aux battery is in good health, the only 2 modules I can read mileage in is eis and instrument and both matching, as toyah once said,it's a mystery

It was Mel C from ‘The Spice Slags’ that said “never be the same again”

as for the fault on the car as Alicia Beth Moore (T/As PINK) said “who knew”

I've disconnected speedo and yes all modules report its absence, and yes it has a towbar with an aftermarket interface, the only module i can read vehicle speed from successfully is in tcm with delphi.

So as Run dmc said “how bizzare”

what Happens if you hit the redline in reverse? Needle move and miles go up?

    EXPERIMENT:-

start engine, turn volume to slightly loud.

go for drive with a passenger using an iShit with some sound meter app
recording the sound of a speaker, see if the volume gets louder as you go faster

See if speed sensitive system works

    EXPERIMENT:-

download a “canbus converter” digital to a n a logue anallog converter, connect to scope and drive.
    Connect scope to it

    EXPERIMENT:-

See if you can get the dk thanks and rep function to ‘lock out’
