Default locked my ecu. help please

Hi all, im after some help with a vw crafter ecu that i have accidently locked

The crafter needed its dpf and egr de-activating so using kess v2 i read the ecu file (all went fine). Using a program called "ecu safe" i de activated the dpf+egr then wrote the new file back to the vans ecu (all fine and van running perfect).

Now to the problem, the crafter needs a 62mph limit by law and it seems i had somehow removed this with the new file . I have re written the file with unchecking the Vlimit removal, saved the file and tried to write this to the ecu but it fails every time saying "wrong security code". The kess software will no longer work, ID-READING-WRITING-RECOVER all these give the same error. Looking back at ecu safe there is a check box marked "protection", did i accidently leave this box checked, could this be why i cant access the ecu?

Im hoping someone can help with this as i really need to put the limiter back on.

    Please help

No unfortunately not. Is my guess right that the ecu is now locked? Do i need to get one of those tools to unlock it and is this something easily fixable?

Your ECU is in a "bricked" state, i am guessing you have EDC16U1/EDC16U34.

Your best of buying KTAG and BDM adapters (Bosch) online and writing a BDM file from here.

If you have EDC17 you may be lucky to write a BDM from here with your Tricore Adapter

attach us your original file and we can help
I have started to encrypt my RAR attachments, If you don't say thanks then i wont help you again...

If EDC16 = BDM read and push here.
If EDC17= Bootread of irom and eeprom and I can fix for you.

    Hi.

I have attached a zip with 3 files inside.

crafter reading 1 - file saved when Kess read ecu
crafter read - text file that was created (cant remember if it was when read)
crafdpf+egr - this is the file i wrote to the ecu.

The crafter is a 2.5l diesel, BJL engine code and i think the ecu is bosch EDC16CP34.
    The Kess protocol was 73.

    Bricked ECU doesnt sound good

Yes, the Ecusafe changed the seed keys... About dpf off - shit, about egr off - there is no egr off...
You have to do BDM job now. The problem is, that you have to lift the PCB, because the BDM port is not accessible...
This is very risky operation. probably will end with dead ECU...

You need to open the ECU and attach the BDM adaptor (Bosch) to your ecu as pictured. You need to buy KTAG and the adaptors. You don't need to lift the PCB. The BDM pads are on the lower part on the top side.

It is an easy job but it might be better if you take the ecu to someone who can bench it and ask them to write a BDM original to it.

Yes, my mistake... it is CP34 VAG, not C31 MB...

pretty bad new for me then.

im not really sure where to go from here now as to options, by the sound of it i probably should look for someone local that can do the ecu for me as buying the ktag + bench tools may cost more and then i would still need advice on how to go about writing a bdm file.
Should i look at the possibility of getting a used ecu and swapping it but im sure that would involve immobiliser, keys and injectors needing to be programmed?

Is anyone local in the Midlands UK that might be able to help if i dropped the ecu off with a drink?

Ill put the plan to up the power from the 136 to 164 map on hold i think and concentrate on fixing the mess ive created

Thank you all for the help guys, very appreciated
