Default BMW E92 N55 DME Matching

Hello, I have donor DME MEVD1726 to install in N55 E92 with automatic transmission.

I already have ISN from donor and DME and trying to avoid opening it if possible.

Can I change ISN in CAS to match new DME ISN or do I have to change ISN in DME?

I'm worried that if I change ISN in CAS the EGS might not allow to go into drive.

Would be great if someone could confirm if they've used this method on automatic transmission with success.

Second question is if donor MEVD1726 (E70 N55) will work to replace original MEVD172 (E92 N55)?

    Thank you!

E70 and E90 are completely different setup. Just ISN is not enough to get it running properly. What tools you have for this job?
Guided fault finding = Feature that many factory scan-tools have and real technician despise it.

If I have to write ISN in DME I will use ACDP. Problem is that I have to open DME to do that and I am trying to avoid that if possible.

If I change ISN in DME/CAS will it affect EGS EWS?

If I must use the original ISN I can open donor DME and write original ISN into donor but only as last resort because I already opened it once and resealed it since.

You can read ISN from new DME and Programm in CAS.
CAS is synced to EGS also.
After sync dme with cas you need do some coding stuff to fit ecu to car.

Why open ecu? You can read ISN from DME in bench from dump or via OBD.
    CAS need open.

Thank you, this is the method I want to use. I have done it before on E70 and then transmission wouldn't go into gear so I had to change ISN to original in dono DME and then car would go into gear.

Will I have the same problem on E92 LCI if I change the ISN in CAS? Because I'm not able to reset EGS ISN if that would be the next step required.

Maybe I should just open DME and write original ISN to donor DME so I don't have problems with transmission?

I know some tools don't require DME to be open to read/write ISN on MEVD but I don't have N55 adapter for ACDP so I must open shell.

    Thanks again

You dont change ecu isn.... only CAS for DME Allignment.
Nothing to do with EGS if its synced with cas.

Isn in egs have E70/71 or any e series with 8hp...so egs in e92 won’t be affected...you can write isn from ecu to cas or vice cersa...no problem...but you must set working hours to 0. So you can code dme according car’s vo.
