    Default Writing to 93C56

    Hello all,
    I am having trouble writing to my FT93C56A (L56R equivalent); the manufacturer is Fremont Microchip. . . I am programming it in 256 x 8 and every odd byte is written wrong. . .all even bytes bits banged to it are written correctly. For example if I write AA to all addresses I get:

    0x00 = AA
    0x01 = 92
    0x02 = AA
    0x03 = 92

    and this happens uniformly to all addresses in EEPROM.

    I've tried writing to another similar eeprom but from different manufacturer and all bits are written correctly using same code (i.e. all addresses take AA value). I hate to blame it on the manufacturer but all 8 EEPROM ICs' that I have for FT93C56 behave the same and looking at the data sheet for both EEPROMs I see no differences in clock pulses for shifting bits. . .so maybe it is the EEPROMs' or maybe I am overlooking something.

    Any help is appreciated
    Thanks!!

    Maybe it's in 16 bits.
