    Default parking fine

being a pillar of the community i have been in to town today and tried to dodge paying for parking as i only needed to go to the bank must have been gone 2 mins if that

i was under the assumption that traffic wardens had to wait before issuing a ticket of approx 5 minutes

mine was observed and issued at the same time 14 .45 is it valid or can i contest it

The way out it is to get a copy of road signs Regs. and find something wrong with the lay out of signs and road markings in the area. That provides a defence if they are not exact. You can use this as a defence.
Long job but it works if you have the time. Good luck

i now have two one is a ?120 cos i forgot to pay at all this is ?35 if i pay in 14 days and ?70 after

thing is though i see them often and they never give tickets straight away they always seem to wait a bit before issueing the ticket and i am sure they have a timer they are supposed to stick to before they give a ticket can anyone clarify

thing is i think i pi55ed them off cos i parked up got out then i seen her and she said i cant park there so i drove round the block and watched her go down another road before i parked up

but apparantly as i nipped to the bank she doubled back and put an instant ticket on the car i am sure there is a time frame i dont need proof if this is the case as it says on the ticket

time observed 14:45 to 14:45 on others i have gotten there has always been a delay in the times

just to confirm my thoughts on the most eagerly anticipated thread since the last firmware fix

i went and pulled a traffic warden up yesterday and guess what they have to give a five minute spell before issuing a ticket unless you are in a loading bay or similar i was on a single yellow line

    so its not getting paid

Parking attendants do not have to issue a ticket now since new regs came in april 2008. They just need to show evidence that you were parked illegally. The only defence you may have is that you were parked out of necessity or you were not in control of the vehicle at the time of the alleged offence i.e it broke down ,theft. Of course if the parking restrictions i.e signs are wrong then this of course means you did not commit an offence.

You have 28 days after a notice of issue to make representation and then appeal to parking adjudicator. Of course if you defend you must have valid defence or you lose the right to pay the reduced fee.
I have just taken a call from a client whom has been issued a ticket and they have sent a photograph with the vehicle driving along the road. I think he has good defence.
