    Default Current draw thread

Every two days a car with a current draw come in so here's the thread.

    Jaguar F-Pace 2017 engine 204DTD 9500 miles
key off, all door closed, bonnet open with 2 hooks closed to simulate bonnet closed,
current draw 680mA, open one door and current jump to 7.7A per one minute,
    then 6.6 A per one minute, then 5.5A per 3 minutes, then 4A, 3A, 2A, 1A untill
the current draw remain constant to 680mA.
If you close the car after a couple of minutes the current drawn is 10mA.
I think 680mA is the problem. In this situation the car throw a Low battery message in dash.
It will disappear if you drive or recharge the battery, but half a day later the message return.

10ma is ok, many newer vehicles will continue to draw a few amps after locking as different modules finish up what they are doing and power down via can command. If you see a steady 10ma draw after 5mins, its more likely ok and your issue is a bad ground or failing battery.

The 4 Punto 188 with 40mA consuption will cause no crank if left unused for nearly one month.
    Body computer in my case.
    ---
Ford Focus II draws currant for “32 minutes” after landing then like 20ma
As said per the Jaguar F-Pace, but some post has been removed, it has a 680mA consumption for a lot of minutes
if you don't lock the car. If you lock the car the consumption is 10mA.

    ---
Cmax 2010 had three main current consumption, first from Alarm unit (behind glove box in LHD vehicle),
second appear to be the dash, the third had no time to track because owner needed the car (that he bought used a couple of days before
    from another dealer).

Ssangyong Rexton 2009 diesel two current consumption
    *aftermarket radio (chinese 2din)
    * original central locking unit (don't know where it is, have not fixed the car yet)
Both could be eliminated removing the correct fuse (don't rember position)

Ford Fiesta 07/2020 engine code XUJM 1,5 liter 63 kW
Car locked, after ten minutes waiting is it ok to have 50mA leakage current or does it have to be lower?

Has no aftermarket parts in cabin.
    ---
4.30 PM got a twin car same everything, here for other reason immediately tested, result:
after 20 minutes current drawn shake between 20-50mA so I assume both cars ok or both ko.
Not mine car so I don't care.

    Jeep Cheeroke year 2002 diesel 2499cc 105kW
sporadic battery drain up to 1.02A not already solved.
It goes away removing the 40A fuse that report IGN SWITCH in engine compartment.

If you disconnect battery or start vehicle it goes away.
    It might not return.
You give the car to the customer and in 2 days battery will be flat.

Is not the OEM radio, has been removed.
Is not ceiling lamps, has been disconnected.

A 0.06A current drain comes from fog light & hazard.
But when I search for that 1.02A no way to catch it.
Have removed all other fuse in engine compartment.

This model in USA is called Liberty.

    UPDATE:
switch key to ON position, PULL the key from the IGNITION BARREL and mine went off with no problem.
Also, start vehicle with key, PULL key again it went off easily. Will order the part.

    Hi

How did you end up diagnosing that? Would never have thought looking there. But make sense with drinking and driving.
    Spills could cause shorts there

Fuzz1 - drain was cycling up and down in a steady rythmn so figuered it was a module causing it and using amp clamp around loom tracked it down
