Default 2004 scenic II front wiper fault

my front wipers have been playing up for a while. Sometimes they work and sometimes they dont. and for the last few days ive been getting nothing from them! i tried changing the fuse and they still dont work. i got my mate who is a mechanic but not an auto electrician to have a look at them he couldnt test the motor but tested the wire loom going into the motor and he thinks there is an intermittent signal there....anyone any ideas?????????

You have to find out where tha fault is whilst it is present. Next time you switch them on and they dont work, lift the bonnet and tap the motor to see if it fires into life.

I replaced the wiper motor on a 2005 Scenic before Christmas; apparently wiper motor failure is a fairly common fault on these cars. Not too difficult to replace but takes a little time, you need to remove the wiper arms and plastic covers in front of the windscreen then remove the complete assembly before swapping the wiper motor.
