Default Need advice, Renault Trafic 2.0 edc16 0281012658

    Hi guys,

I've bricked my ECU and it is properly dead. Removed it from the vehicle and still can't communicate with it via BDM/KTAG. I do not have original flash/eeprom which would have the immobiliser information. What are my options?
Do I get a second hand ECU with same code 0281012658 - obviously the immobiliser information will be different, is it possible to recode the immobiliser to my vehicle or remove it completely?

Has anyone used an 'ECU KIT' where an ecu, key, ignition barrel, clocks and other such bits come with it? Please help

    Thanks!

Post eeprom from donor ecu, it can be virginized. Ecu will adapt automaticly, only injector codes must be writen.

You bricked it by obd, using kess?
Or you removed it, and bricked it with ktag?

    Like Ziomski advised, read eeprom.
If you can not read it with ktag, use a eeprom programmer.

    Thumbs up

Hi guys, thanks for your replies.

Ziomski - Attached is the read from the donor ECU which I found had a burnt out PCB for some reason. Fortunately, I was able to get the full K-TAG read. If this file is made 'virgin', and if I bought another donor ECU with same part number and flashed this onto it, would that fix the issue?

Rob - Initally, bricked by OBD, sucesfully read with MPPS but while I was re-flashing the EGR Delete file, the voltage on my charger dropped and casued a no-comms issue. Thought I might be able to get a read from BDM but no comms there either. Doing some reading after-the-fact suggests that MPPS isn't good for EDC16. Hindsight.

Ahh ok, so if I get another ECU that's the same, just virginise that eeprom instead. How do I go about the virginising part?

Many dump tools can do that, some are free, on D.k.
Or just post your dump here, if needed.

Just a quick update, having trouble tracking down an ECU that's got the same part number as mine. Does it have to be exactly the same or can one from a similar engined model be adapted?

I can see one easy solution, as I understand you've bricked your ori ECU by programming via OBD.
So now... open your ECU, there is BDM port. If you don't have BDM100 or Galletto or other BDM tool, find someone in the neighborhood with such tool.
Next, search 0281012658 here on the forum, there is 18 hits at this moment with software mostly read via BDM. Unfortunately I don't have this part number.
People are asking for EGR off or tuning posting ori flash files, also immo solutions posting EEprom.
In your situation I expect that your ECU EEprom still content your ori undamaged data.
First try to flash your ORI ECU only flash data.
    If it starts, you're lucky
    Give a try, post results.

Thanks for the reply. The original ECU has no communication through either OBD or on the BDM port. It is dead :')

Ok so i desoldered the eeprom chip from my original ecu and resoldered it to the spare ecu, read the data and flashed that eeprom file to my the new one.

Question is, will the flash on that work with my original eeprom data?

    Make the replacement eeprom virgin.
If needed, code injectors, and then you will see if the car runs well.

The replacement ecu, if choosen wisely, it should be fine.
