    Default Vauxcheck on used car?

I'm thinking about buying a used Astra 1.7 SXi CDTi.

Would I be within my rights to ask the seller to allow me to connect my laptop and run Vauxcheck on the motor while viewing?

I don't see any real reason why not.

Of course he should. If they decline then there's probably a big problem in the car and you should run away very fast and find another car.

Strange though, as I've contact 3 independant garages so far and each of them has denied it's use.

Two simply said No and the other told me a cock and bull story about someguy doing it and ~~~~ing the ECU in the car.

Then ask them if you can use their equipment.
If they still reply No, continue your search.
