Default Good reading material for beginners

Any good books or online material to help with beginners. Out of curiosity, when I get the fault code for my car how do I find out what it means.

If there is an ebook or something that has the list of fault codes, can someone please post link for peugeot 307 fault codes.

    Default RE: codes

up here in Canada since 96 we use a generic set of codes that can be found just by googling.... example P0300 is Powertrain code for misfire. P0301= misfire cylinder 1 P0302=misfire cyl 2 etc
a list of these codes and their meaning can be found easily for free on many sites

    Default good reading

google ebscohost and find login ....usually the 3rd or 4th down

    logindsb
    passwordroflib

this should give you access to a massive digital library which includes an Auto Repair Reference Center (ARRC)

this arrc has lots of good reading for mechanics, wiring diagrams and repair instructions (some bullitins)

This does not work anymore, some error about the website not recognising me and the password needing to be reset.

Good sites to look up codes (including new ones introduced in 2007) are:
DTCSearch.com - Search Engine for OBD-II Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs)
    Diagnostic Trouble Code Library
    Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC)
These are free websites that do not require any password and they are updated regularly.
