Prius 2 used key not responding

I bought a used prius key, about a year ago.

Tokai Rika B31EA
Zilver logo.
Inside there is a seperate transponder. B-05296
It appears death. I tried reading it with a few different tools.
Zero response.

The remote works, giving signal when pressed

Is the key broken?
Or is the transponder a dummy?
should be 4D70

There is a big white antenna block.
Not readable either. With and without battery.

The car, needing a key, is a 2006 with keyless entry doorhandles.

Chip was most likely a clone chip put into the case (CN1). You can replace the chip with correct value , then do a quick reset. Orange toyota smart dongle will get you there in minute.

So this transponder, is completly seprated from the remote and entry.!?
I have some transponders and could clone the remaining key.
I do not have the orange dongle. Cheap yes, but i never ordered 1.
I do have techstream, so i only need to match remote keyless?

Would this orange smart dongle also work on the EU cars? On this old type of vehicle.

I think I have one on the shelf.
And also a green one.

I never tried, any of them.

After I found out, this was mainly for the US market.
Bought them both, many years ago.

Tjese chips super week dignal. Very hard read if chip in shell. Yesterday coukdnt read at all with any tool untill split the case

Wedge chip in the case works on the slot (standard immo. Just like a key). The keyless entry is marry with smart access system. Immo reset for the slot, ecu reset for keyless entry and smart access. Hope that helps!!

I have the green dongle. Never used it.

I opened up the key, and took the transponder out. Key whas never opened up before. Chip looks fine.
Still no tool reads it. Tango, vvdi2, minikeytool, keytool, all not detecting the transponder.

So in order to Add the program keyless, i need to reset all these modules. Or is that only in akl situation?

Not looking forward to this job at all.

You need to reset only when AKl
Many tools will reset it I use Autel under system KWP2 on immo section not in keyless section

I fyou have one working key just copy the chip and program the remote and the keyless

Today, i programmed the secondhand smart key.
B31EA 89904-47020 chrome logo smart
I could not read this transponder. The car however could. So programmed the transponder succesfull.
The smart remote key, i could not get the car to accept it.
New battery, same internal print and coil as owners last key.

I could erase all remotes, and i reprogrammed only the owners key.
The car failed to accept my key.
I tested the remote signal, and compared it with the owners key. Could not find any difference.

I will look for a new keyless key, to program, on this car.
Just to make sure, where the problem is.

Owners key whas a master key.
My secondhand key, whas also a master key.

So, maybe it need a sub added to start.
And only then excepts more keyless entry remote?

There is no valet in these system (only 4 smart keys in total)

Maybe the keyless version must be unlocked to be programmed to other car

There is no readable signal, comming from the keyless entry fob. Atleast not readable with my keytools. (remote should be triggered by car proximity antenna)
Not like a full smart key.

So it could be, that they need to be virgin.
Method off matching starts with something that is called creating master, by pressing single button.
After this, the matching to the car follows.

I could rematch the old owners key after erasing.
