Need Ford Transit key code

Purchased a 2013 Ford Transit at auction today and they don't have the title or copy of the title. May be in soon or a few weeks depending on the seller. Anyone willing to help me with a key code as the van has no keys. Just need the code so I can have a key cut.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

you will be unlikely to get a key code for a mk7 transit tibbe key from ford , your options realisticly are ;

1) call a local auto locksmith to pick and decode the locks and supply cut and program new key set

2) remove locks and strip them to work out key cuts

3) remove all locks and fit a new lock set with keys

personally id call an auto locksmith as a good one will have it picked and decoded in a minute or 2 .

Have been buying and selling the older style Transits for several years now and quite familiar with their locks. If I had a title in hand and not just a Bill of Sale the key code would be no issue and I could have it in a matter of 20 minutes. And as far as local locksmiths I have found 1 that will cut a Tribbe key and he wants $200 to do it. Not pick the lock and cut the key but just to cut the key. So I order my keys from a supplier in California that needs the key code.

So I was just hoping to get lucky and get this truck moving forward rather than sitting until the title comes in

ah usa , you do have access to ford key codes , however here in uk and europe we do not have this luxury , we have to do it the hard way , all be it the hard way takes a minute or 2 , a 2013 transit here all keys lost is a 12 to 15 minute job start to finish to pick decode , cut and program with the right tools and ability, this is why my answer advised using an auto locksmith . many envy the usa market with easy access to codes.

in future it may help if you state where you are in your profile or on your posts , as you will get more relevent answers as european and usa systems and some locks used are very different , they are different worlds , it saves answers that are not relevent to you .

we have had the tibbe lock since the 1990s all the way to some 2013 models , so a lock here in europe that we are very familiar with and due to the price cutters a far cheaper job than you state , but codes for many makes ford included are not easily obtainable if at all on some makes. most fords in uk switched from the tibbe lock to the HU101 lock around 2003 , with the exceptions being the fiesta that used tibbe to 2008 and transit that used tibbe to 2014, as i say uk/europe and the usa are different worlds when it comes to keys and locks for cars.

i remember doing classes on lishi some years back at just cars show when tibbe was first introduced in the usa , it was a shock seeing a lock that was old for us being new there and one we found so easy to be considered difficult to do .

Nothing to be envious of. In America, it seems to be forbidden to open locks with lock picks. You can decode it ( it should not open at all) Cut the key and then open it. But maybe it also depends on the state

yes it differs state to state , i had 4 great years attending just cars and aloa shows in states and helping on training and stand demo on lishi , met many great locksmiths from all over the states and made some good friends there.

but even in usa they are seeing a rise in scammers and a rise in lots having a go at doing their own keys , the cancer thats infected the trade has spread all over the world as its become to cheap and too easy.

codes are available for all makes in america , in uk and europe this is not the case , which is a good thing as we dont have as many codesmiths.
