Hi Guys,

Got a quick one, so I recently turbo'd my IS200, made the manifold, welded flange for an external gate onto the mani and all.
These engines, with a fuel pressure reg, and 1zz injectors, are supposed to be "safe" at 7psi. My gate came with a 11PSI spring in it, so I bought and put in a 7psi spring.
On this spring, it was making 14PSI of boost.
So I got a 4.4 PSI spring. On that spring, 11PSI of boost...
Had a look around, and moved the gate location on the mani, to actually on the collector.
Now this is where we are... Making 9PSI of boost.

My question is, can I soften the spring to make it make less boost?
I've been looking around, I've seen some people say heat it cherry red, and let it cool slowly.
Others saying don't do this, instead, cut a coil, test, rinse and repeat.

Can I get some opinions please?

Thanks
