I've read their original post, it will support KeyTool Pad Plus and VVDI2+VVDI PROG, an adapter is needed in order to work, but the other solder-free adapter is not essential.
Supports ADD KEY and AKL only for A4/A5/Q5, instead for A6/A7/A8 you can read data from BCM2 but will need a third part for getting sync data.

There are the FAQs on their website, it will work also with the combo VVDI2 + VVDI Prog, it will be an adapter and a software update that will be realesed also for VVDI2

When hawe AKL in cars after 2013 still need sync data, so for what this option?

You still need sync data only for A6/A7/A8 AKL situation, and also with Poldiag with these 3 models you need sync data and need to pay them additional €120 for every calculation..

VVDI Mini Prog has been updated with BCM2 diagrams using the dongle and no solder adapter, so should be released soon

It's not pointless, it's that for those cars you need also a payable service in order to get key sync, and this is also for Poldiag, at least you can read data for key sync calculation
I agree that is not a complete solution and needs to be updated with time, but for that price i think it's worth it, Poldiag is 1500+ euros
