Default ECU Wake Up Error after writing with Kess V2

    Hi guys,

Can anyone help me with an advice?
i read with kess v2 the file on a skoda octavia 1.9 tdi BJB 105hp,2006 and everything went well,
when i tried to write back the file,it did not go further then 0% and said error communications, try recovery yes or no,
and the recovery did the same thing at 0%,now the ECU does not wake up and the car wont start, there is no communication
with the engine when i try to do a diagnose with delphi, the other modules like ABS,Immobiliser works to do diagnose on them, only the engine does not,
tried ID and Read with Kess v2 and comes up with same error Wake Up Error.
the battery voltage was above 12v all the time, never happend before on the rest of the cars that i did read and write files
i have the original file and the ID that i read with Kess V2.
    HW: 0281011883
    SW: 1037371259
    VIN nr.: TMBBS41Z462264021
    SW ver.:
    Spare:
    Engine: R4 1,9L EDC
    HW Ver.:
    SW upg.: 03G906016DJ 6250
    Bosch EDC16U1
Does anyone knows a solution how to wake up the ECU?

i also have Ktag,Mpps if there is a solution to wake up the ECU with them.

    Thank you

Probably, you've bricked your ECU. Try with KTAG in BOOT mode to write original flash. If It wouldn't work, you need to find other ECU and clone it

i will try to do it this way,i was not sure if i could write with Ktag a file that i read with Kess, because i never did it,
my next move was to take out the ECU and try to put it on the bench with Ktag, maybe will wake up the ECU.
i will do it today and report.
    thank you

i will try this way as well,i only have the original file that was read with Kess,
do you think it will be ok if i try to write the Kess file with Ktag or are they different types of readings?

    Thank you

just read in BDM your dead ecu with Ktag, Galletto or what you have... post here BDM read file and OBD read file with kess... and i will make you a repail file from 2 readings to write back in BDM
Autotuner- Kess - Ktag, genuine master tools.

Kess did some EDC16u1 ecu's like i menaged to read/write Golf 5 2.0 103kw Edc16u1 with Kess but i could not write the Golf 1.9 74 or 77kw i don't remember i had to use Galileto v54. If you want to do chiptuning you have to have a few tools you can't stuck with one tool it's just how this job work's.

Yes i agree with that,at the moment i have Kess,Ktag,MPPS,i was thinking about getting a Galleto as well, but since i had no problems before now with Kess,i was thinking that
i will be able to go on just with this 3,and in time when i encounter a different ECU that requires a different tool i will get it.

    thank you for the advice

    Default Update

I send the ECU to an expert in ECU repairs to have it check, and he ask if the owner of the car jump started the car with the jump start robot, and he actually did
right before i come back to write the file back because the car baterry died, but he forgot to mention that to me,from what the expert said, the owner jump started the car with the robot and the high voltage that he select may fried the ECU,but he is not 100% sure,i dont know what to think.

Its possible to brick the ECU if the voltage drops for a few seconds?

I may just get a complete starting kit from scrap yard,ECU,Dashboard,Key etc,i found a few near me for exactly the same car, with the same engine code,
so that will be the ultimate solution

Sometimes hapend when car make ticking noise (if you have weak baterry and key is on) If you hear this ticking noise, need disconnect batery or connect charger or something.

Its need to be quick, because ticking can put ecu in boot mode and erase some datas.

So maybe is cgarger conected to late.

Kess dont write you 5 times - connect baterry to stabilized charger?
